Mourinho sees off his apprentice as Roma beat Leicester to reach Conference League final

Roma will be travelling to Tirana for the Europa Conference League final to take on Feyenoord as they beat Premier League side Leicester City 1-0 on Thursday night.

Having drawn 1-1 in England a week earlier, Roma ensured they got the job done to claim a 2-1 aggregate win in front of a sold-out Stadio Olimpico in Italy’s capital.

Jose Mourinho‘s side have won their fans over this season, with the Giallorossi supporters having fully bought into the Portuguese’s work in the Eternal City, and they didn’t have to wait long for their opener on the night.

Tammy Abraham was the scorer, continuing his impressive form with the Italians this season. There was no surprise to see neither Abraham’s name on the scoresheet, nor that the assist was provided by the excellent Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Leicester didn’t offer too much in attack, though Brendan Rodgers‘ side sought to push late on.

Mourinho‘s Lupi, though, had too much for his apprentice’s men. Mourinho, incidentally, could win the Conference League having already won both the Champions League and the Europa League.

Roma will now take part in the first-ever Europa Conference League final in Albania on May 25.
